December 3, 2009:

GROWN UP MOVIE STAR was accepted into Sundance--congratulations Adriana Maggs! Meanwhile, THE WILD HUNT, (by Alexandre Franchi) continues to do well. It was voted one of Canada's Top Ten by the Toronto International Film Festival and will screen at Slamdance.

October 19, 2009:

THREE CHORDS FROM THE TRUTH won a Gemini Award for Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy! Congrats to the cast!

September 20, 2009:

Stephen began editing RUNNING MATES, a feature comedy by Thomas Michael and Buck Productions.

September 19, 2009:

THE WILD HUNT (by Alexandre Franchi) won Best Canadian First Feature at the Toronto International Film Festival.

August 26, 2009:

THREE CHORDS FROM THE TRUTH was nominated for two Gemini Awards: Best Comedy Program or Series, and Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Program or Series. Congratulations to the cast and crew!

August 4, 2009:

THE WILD HUNT was accepted into the Toronto International Film Festival.

July 20, 2009:

PROM NIGHT IN MISSISSIPPI was broadcast on HBO. It has been doing extremely well on the festival circuit, and recently won Best Documentary at the AFI Film Festival in Dallas.

February 10, 2009:

CAN YOU WAVE BYE BYE? (by Sarah Galea-Davis), was nominated for the Genie Award for Best Short Film!

February 10, 2009:

Stephen was hired to edit GROWN UP MOVIE STAR, a Telefilm-funded feature comedy by Adriana Maggs.

January 19, 2009:

After a successful premiere at Sundance, PROM NIGHT IN MISSISSIPPI was featured on CNN Global as part of their Martin Luther King Day coverage.

December 4, 2008:

PROM NIGHT IN MISSISSIPPI was accepted into the Sundance Film Festival!

November 29, 2008:

Stephen began editing THE WILD HUNT, a feature film directed by Alexandre Franchi.

September 22, 2008:

Stephen began editing THREE CHORDS FROM THE TRUTH, a comedy series for Movie Central and CMT.

July 11, 2008:

THE TWILIGHT EXPRESS, a short that Stephen recently directed, was awarded finishing funds by the Canada Council.

June 15, 2008:

CAN YOU WAVE BYE BYE? won Best Canadian Short Film at the Worldwide Short Film Festival in Toronto. CYWBB also screened on CBC television's program CANADIAN REFLECTIONS.

June 5, 2008:

CONGRATULATIONS DAISY GRAHAM, a short film Stephen edited in 2006, screened on CANADIAN REFLECTIONS. It received extremely positive reviews from John Doyle in THE GLOBE AND MAIL.

June 4, 2008:

WHY CAN'T I HAVE SOME?, a short film Stephen wrote and directed in 2000, was sold to THE MOVIE NETWORK. WCIHS is also in rotation on MOVIEOLA. It is distributed by OUAT MEDIA.

June 1, 2008:

Stephen began editing PROM NIGHT IN MISSISSIPPI, starring Morgan Freeman. PNIM documents Freeman's challenge to a high school in Charleston, Mississippi: if they stage their first ever integrated prom, he will agree to pay for the whole thing.

May 28, 2008:

LOVING LORETTA, a short film Stephen edited in 2007, screened to cast and crew in Toronto. The film will premiere in San Fransisco at Frameline festival in June. It has also been picked up by CANADIAN REFLECTIONS.

May 21, 2008:

CONGRATULATIONS DAISY GRAHAM screened at the Toronto Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.

March 31, 2008:

Stephen wrapped shooting his fifth short film as a writer/director entitled THE TWILIGHT EXPRESS. He is now working with editor Tiffany Beaudin and composer Ivo Paunov to finish the film by the end of the summer.

February 15, 2008:

Stephen returned from a phenomenal experience at the Berlinale Talent Campus, a workshop for young filmmakers that takes place during the Berlin Film Festival. Stephen enjoyed meeting and bonding with upcoming filmmakers from around the world.
